The Epic Ramayana - Introduction

INTRODUCTION:

Ramayana is one of the 2 major epics (Mahabharata and Ramayana) in the history of Mankind. The Title Ramayana means 'The story of Rama'. Rama is none other than the great mighty Lord Mahavishnu. Rama is 7th Avatar in the Dashavtar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama is none other than the 'Maryada Purushotthama' which means 'The Supreme Reality'. He was the eldest prince, a great emperor who thinks always good for his subjects, an able administrator, a great husband and a great father, a great brother, a skillful warriour, very brave, the great god Mahavishnu and The Supreme Reality, Maryada Purushotthama. Manthara plays the main role in Ramayana. Hanuman was and is the greatest devotee of Lord Ram. Hanuman, the son of Vayu(the wind god) , Avatar of Lord Shiva, very powerful and generous and helping, the great brother of Bhima (Mahabharata character, Son of Lord Vayu), Merciful god to his devotees, the Supreme Devotee of Lord Ram, Who always chants only Lord Ram's Name.
